The Liscio products have evolved into one of the most uniquely effective hair treatment systems available today. It has a variety of hair straightening formulas which allows us to provide the Liscio system to a wide range of hair textures for all customers who dream to have a beautiful, silky, straight hair.

At H-K Hair & Beauty salon, we carry the new Liscio Crystal Cream Formulas that provide the natural straight finish and the Liscio Gel Formulas for a glossy pin-straight hair. Our hair stylist will select the right formula for you based on your natural hair texture and the desired end result.

The Liscio Crystal Cream Formula is the newest addition to the Liscio Thermal Reconditioning for clients who have longed for a more natural, shiny finish. It comes in three product strengths for resistant, normal to damage, and severely damaged hair. It can also be done on color-treated hair, and hair that has been highlighted up to 50%. The formula can be used to offer the Smooth Control process where the hair is straightened without using the Thermal Iron. This effect will reduce frizz and soften the curl. It leaves more body to the hair unlike the thermal application. The Smooth Control allows for more styling options without leaving the hair pin-straight.

The Liscio Gel Formula is the answer for clients who love the glossy, pin-straight finish. It comes in two product strengths for damaged and color-treated, and for virgin hair. For the new growth, it has a touch-up solution that provides the protection for the scalp.

Liscio Thermal Reconditioning Aftercare Intructions

After the Liscio service, we recommend our clients to use Milbon Crede or Nigelle ER Shampoo and Treatment for home care. These products have been specially formulated to enhance the soft and weightless feel of the hair as well as maintain the manageability and silky feel. This will smooth out new growth for easily manage until the retouch service is required.

• Do NOT shampoo for 48-72 hours after the Japanese Hair Straightening service.
• If the hair becomes wet during that time, blow the hair dry using a downward drying motion, and smooth with a brush.
• In the first 48-72 hours, if the hair becomes creased after sleeping, gently moisten the areas with water, and blow dry using a downward drying motions, and smooth with a brush.
• No hair clips, barrettes, ponytails or tucking the hair behind the ears for a minimum of 48 hours.
• Notify the hair stylist that you have had the Liscio TR service performed if you would like to have new chemical applications (color, perms, etc..) within 2-4 weeks after the service.
• Blow dry your hair by applying the heat from the root to the ends using the hands till the hair is about 80% dry, then finishing with a brush for styling.
• Do NOT use hot iron on the Thermal Reconditioned hair. Only use the iron for the new growth.
• Recommend for re-touch service after 6-8 months

Frequently Asked Questions Before the Process

1. What is Liscio Thermal Reconditioning?
   Liscio Thermal Reconditioning (AKA Japanese Hair Straightening and Hair Rebonding) is a technique that originated in Japan to make curly, wavy or frizzy hair, straight. The process uses both chemicals and heat to soften the bonds of the hair, reforming the bonds in a straight pattern. The end result is not only perfectly straight hair, but a glossy, smooth, and silky finish that is more healthy than before the process!
   
   
2. How long is the process?
   Approximately 4-5 hours. This depends on the condition and length of the hair. Please give us plenty of time in order to provide you with the best result possible.
   
   
3. Can the process be done on color treated and/or highlighted hair?
   It can be done on color treated hair, and hair that has been highlighted up to 50%.
   
   
4. Can it be done on hair that has Henna color?
   Liscio cannot be done on hair that has a Henna product or any other metallic dyes or color restorers. If you are unsure about a color you've used in the past, ask your stylist.
   
   
5. Can Liscio be done over a relaxer?
   It cannot be done over hair that has been relaxed with products containing sodium hydroxide or any other metallic hydroxides. However, Liscio is compatible with other thio or cystine based relaxers.
   
   
6. How soon before or after the Liscio service can color be performed?
   We suggest waiting a minimum of 2 weeks before or after having your Liscio service performed. However, we do not recommend home coloring and suggest having your hair professionally colored as special precautions need to be taken.
   
   
7. Can I put my hair in a pony tail?
   At least 72 hours after the Liscio service, do not put clips, pins, rubber bands, ponytails, or barrettes in the hair. Do not tuck hair behind the ears as well.
   
   
8. How long will Liscio last?
   Once the hair has been thermally reconditioned with Liscio, it will remain straight until it grows out and/or is cut off. New growth generally needs to be retouched anywhere from 6-8 months after.
   
   
9. Is all the hair redone when I get the new growth done?
   Most times just the new growth is done and the previously done hair is protected with Keratin and protective cream products. If the hair reverts back, solution can be applied for a shorter period of time.
   
   
10. Can I swim in a pool or the salt water after?
    Do not swim in a chlorinated pool or salt water for at least two weeks after your Liscio straightening. Also, you should avoid extensive sun exposure during this time.
    
    
11. What information do I need to disclose to my stylist before having the Liscio service performed?
    You will want to tell your stylist about any color, perms, previous relaxers or other chemical services you have had done or performed in the past. It is important to tell your stylist, even if you can not still see the effect of the previous service or think it has grown out. You will also want to advise your stylist of any scalp conditions, irritations, abrasions and/or allergies.
